Last month I was given the opportunity to preview “Moms’ Night Out“, a wonderful movie all about being “mom”. Moms’ Night Out is due out this weekend, just in time for Mother’s Day. I took Jessica with me who has been the oldest and longest lasting character here at Shh!! Momma’s Writing! and she loved it as well. Being the oldest of four children and 22 years old, she recognized many moments from our past.
It made me remember Jessie’s artwork that spanned not only her own natural reach of the wall space, but the ENTIRETY. It reminded me of a toddler Zack coming in the room and saying, “Oh no mommie, the poop.” (Never a good thing to hear.) What also resonated to me were the teenage struggles I currently face and also the relationships I share with other mothers, both younger and older.
Moms’ and Dads’ everywhere will set in the theater and wonder how the writers and producers captured their lives so well.
The movie carries a wonderful message to all moms out there. It is a great opportunity to get the family together and go see a movie, or maybe leave the family home and go spend some time with the girlfriends. Let someone else do the parenting for the evening.
And I’ll leave you with this:
